<p>People spend a lot of money on the formation of their logo and walk away with no artwork files. Then a couple months down the track when they need to put signage on their new building they cannot track the design studio down that created the original logo for them and so incur costs to have it recreated. This is redundant and may cause difficulties when trying to recreate the logo exactly as done originally.</p>
<p>We have created some basic tips you for to think about when creating a logo. Hopefully these will help you from experiencing any future obstacles.</p>
<p><strong>Tip 1<br /></strong>First things first - you need to decide if you would like your logo to have an accompanying icon. It is advised that if your service or product name is not in your business name then perhaps an icon will help in portraying a clear message across to your target audience.</p>
<p>An icon can add an extra element to your branding in that you could use the icon on its own on collateral where perhaps you are sighting for a more illustrative finish without losing recognition.</p>

<p><strong>Tip 8<br /></strong>It is important to have a style guide of your logo. It will clearly show you how to use your logo so it looks exactly the same every time it is reproduced. This allows you to keep your corporate image consistent.</p>
<p><strong>Tip 9<br /></strong>Make sure that you get a letter from the design studio declaring that you own the copyright to your logo.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>How many times have you mailed business cards to print and procured yet another version of your corporate colour? Ever been enthusiastic to see your advert in the latest newspaper and then observed that the crucial tag line is gone or your logo has been wrecked.</p>
<p>There is only one way to avoid this from happening and that is to create a style guide. Not only will a style guide assist you direct the reproduction of your logo - it will also help you sustain your brand recognition – which many argue is one of the strongest selling tools.</p>

<p><strong>Step 1</strong> : Outline the audience for your Style Guide. Is this for staff to put to work in-house or is this for suppliers and contractors to refer to?</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The typical question that is asked when purchasing a new projector for the home, office, or classroom is: do I buy an LCD projector or a DLP projector? LCD, an acronym for ‘liquid crystal device’ and DLP, which stands for ‘digital light processing’ are the two most popular projector imaging technologies. With so many brands and different types available, it can be overwhelming for customers to decide between the two technologies. It comes down to the fact that LCD projectors offer far superior image quality and colour accuracy. The following article tells you why DLP projectors struggle with reproducing a comparable standard of image quality.</p>
<p>It&#8217;s like a set of blinds in your house over your bedroom window. By twisting a rod you can turn the shutters open or closed, depending on whether you want to let light in or not. Such is exactly how an LCD projector works. Each pixel functions like an individual shutter on a set of blinds to either allow light through or to block it. DLP on the other hand is formed of millions of microscopic mirrors or ‘pixel elements’ as experts like to call them. Each pixel element functions to either reflect light or block it.</p>
<p>How the light source is processed from when the projector switches on to when the picture reaches your screen is ultimately significant to image quality, brightness and colour accuracy. LCD projectors shine white light from the lamp by splitting it into red, blue and green components, by three mirrors which project the coloured light to 3 separate LCD panels. The 3 LCD panels make the elements of the image by turning each pixel on and off. The pixels are then meshed in a glass prism to create the projector image. Something important to realise about LCD projectors is that all three colours are sent onto your wall at once. The way a DLP projector operates is vastly different and even the produced image appears is not the same. With DLP, white light from the lamp is processed through a spinning colour wheel with transparent red, blue and green segments, at speeds up to 11,000 rpm/s. This way of forming an image forms a sequence of red, blue and green light. The millions of micro mirrors as described above reflect the coloured light on the pixels to create the image elements. The elements of the image are cast in sequence on the screen, one colour at a time. The viewer&#8217;s eyes will then pull together each coloured element of the image into the single full image. In LCD projectors, all colours are available all the time to offer the best brightness and superb colour accuracy. In DLP, only one colour is available at any given time, resulting in lower colour brightness and accuracy. Some manufacturers have put a white segment for the colour wheel to improve general brightness, but this also degrades colour accuracy.</p>
<p>I see in forums all the time that DLP has a higher contrast ratio and therefore must be superior. For those who don&#8217;t know, the contrast ratio is a measure of a display system defined as the ratio of the luminance of the brightest white to that of the darkest black that the projector is capable of. DLP projectors do provide high contrast specifications when compared to the majority of LCD projectors. At first glance, this appears to be a benefit, however, in the real world, the true black level is determined by the ambient light in the room in which the projector is utilised. Do not be fooled by contrast specifications on websites and in brochures.</p>
<p>When the content you plan to bring to life requires moving images, DLP projection technology can also have image imperfections, or ‘artifacts’. The most common artifact that a DLP projector creates with moving images is colour break up. Colour break up is unavoidable in DLP systems because moving images change between the time red, blue and green colours are projected. LCD projectors do not have this characteristic because all colours are sent with the others. DLP manufacturers have created 3DLP solutions using 3 chips to resolve the colour break up artifacts, but the price tag of these projectors make them hardly practical for most businesses and consumers.</p>
<p>Another differentiation between LCD and DLP is how they match the balance for the refractive qualities of light. Take yourself back to high school science, and they taught you how various colours of light refract varied amounts when directed through the same lens. The disadvantage with DLP projectors is that they utilise the one same panel for the same lens to project Red, Blue and Green. All 3 colours are not the same and refract light in a different way. Usually with a DLP projector, some yellow colour will come through above and some extra blue will be projected below an image as simple as a straight black line. While being built LCD projectors can be fixed to take away these effects on the projected image, as each colour is processed on separate LCD panels.</p>
<p>The sole actual advantage (excluding price) with taking a DLP projector is its overall smaller size and weight. However, this is only relevant with regard to mobility and must be traded off against the image advantages of LCD projectors. 			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>As the Dutch came to dominance in sea power during the 17th century, the first yacht had been a pleasure craft used initially by royalty and secondly by the burghers in the canals and the protected and unprotected waters of the Low Countries. Racing yachts was incidental, arising as private challenges. English yachting originated with King Charles II of England during his exile in the Low Countries. On his return to the English throne in 1660, the city of Amsterdam gave him a 20-metre (66-foot) leisure boat with a beam (maximum width) of 5.6 m (18 feet), which he then named Mary. Charles and his brother James, the duke of York (James II, ruled 1685–88), made more yachts and in 1662 raced two of them from the Thames, from Greenwich, to Gravesend, and back, on a Â£100 wager. Yachting was found to be popular among the affluent and aristocracy, but after that point the habit did not last.</p>
<p>The first yacht group in the British Isles, the Water Club, was instigated in about 1720 at Cork, Ire., as a cruising and unofficial coast guard association, and had great naval panoply and gravity. The closest thing to racing boats was the “chase,” for which the “fleet” pursued a fictional enemy. The club went on, for the large part as a social club, until 1765, and in 1828, after conglomerating with other groups, it became known as the Cork Yacht Club (later the Royal Cork Yacht Club).</p>
<p>Yacht racing was first seen in some ordered manner on the Thames in the mid-18th century. The duke of Cumberland funded the Cumberland Fleet for Thames racing in 1775. When George IV came to monarchy in 1820, it came to be named the Fleet to His Majesty&#8217;s Coronation Sailing Society. The Thames Yacht Club seceded following a racing fight, to become the Royal Thames Yacht Club in 1830. The first English yacht club had been started at Cowes on the Isle of Wight in 1815, and royal funding made the Solent - the strait between the mainland and the Isle of Wight - the continued setting of British yacht racing. The organisation at Cowes became the Royal Yachting Club, likewise at the accession of George IV. All members were required to possess boats of at least 20 tons (20,321 kg). Sailing tests for great bets were held, and the club life was lovely. Ultimately Royal Yachting Club boats were raised in size to bigger than 350 tons.</p>
<p>In North America, yachting started with the Dutch in New York in the 17th century and continued when the English took dominance. Sailing was mostly for fun and reached its epitome in George Crowinshield&#8217;s Cleopatra&#8217;s Barge (1815), which traveled on the Mediterranean Sea and set a benchmark of luxury and sophistication for the later yachts in the area from the late 19th century. The first continuing American yacht organisation, the Detroit Boat Club, was formed in 1839. In 1844, John C. Stevens founded the New York Yacht Club while aboard his schooner Gimcrack.</p>
<p><strong>Kinds of sailboats<br /></strong>The first sailing yachts took the lines of such naval craft as brigantines, schooners, and cutters from the 17th century until the later half of the 19th century. The design of large yachts was initially largely affected by the success of America, which was designed by George Steers for a association started by John C. Stevens, and it was the boat for which the America&#8217;s Cup (q.v.) found its namesake after its win at Cowes in 1851. Earlier yachts were not designed and built in today&#8217;s sense, with only a model used. Not until the later half of the 19th century did what was called naval architecture come into being. Not until the 1920s did the employment of the research of aerodynamics do for the craft of sails and rigging what science had already done for hulls.</p>
<p>Because almost all sailboats were individually built, there was a requirement for handicapping boats as this was previous to the one-design class boats were designed. Thus, a rating rule was created, which is found in the International Rule, taken on in 1906 and edited in 1919. In the present day, one of the rapidly flourishing areas in sailing is that of one-design class boats. All boats in a one-design class are built to single specifications in length, beam, sail area, and other elements (for an example of a two-person sailboat, see illustration). Racing between those boats can be held on an even keel with no handicapping at all. A perfect example is the generic International America&#8217;s Cup Class adopted for participants in the 1992 America&#8217;s Cup race.</p>
<p>For the time that yachting was done mostly for the royal and the affluent, cost was no object, and the size of boats developed, in both length and weight. The promotion and preference of smaller craft occurred in the latter half of the 19th century out of the sailing of the Englishmen R.T. McMullen, a stockbroker, and E.F. Knight, a barrister and journalist. A voyage around the world (1895–98) led single-handedly by the naturalized American captain Joshua Slocum in the 11.3-metre Spray demonstrated the value of less sizeable yachts. Thereafter in the 20th century, for the larger part after World War II, smaller racing and pleasure yachts became more common, down to the dinghy, a favoured training boat, of 3.7 m. In the late 20th century, yachts of less than 3 m were setting sail single-handedly across the Atlantic Ocean.</p>
<p><strong>Kinds of power yachts<br /></strong>Post the decade 1840–50, when steam began to replace sail power in commercial vessels, the steam engine, and later the internal-combustion engine, were increasingly employed in pleasure vessels. Large power yachts were developed to a high degree, and long-distance travel was a preferred activity of the affluent. The earliest power yachts were paddle-wheel boats; those then made way to those powered by the completely submerged screw or propeller sort of propulsion. As in the case of naval and merchant boats, auxiliaries with both sail and power were the yacht standard for many years. By the later half of the 20th century, a lot of yachts were still auxiliaries, but the larger part were only power yachts that had gasoline or diesel engines.</p>
<p>In the last decade of the 19th century there was a boom in the construction of more sizeable steam yachts. Notably of these was the Mayflower (1897) of 2,690 tons, containing triple-expansion engines, twin screws, and a compartmented iron hull, and was manned by a crew of over 150. The Mayflower, commissioned by the United States Navy in 1898, was the official yacht of the president of the United States until 1929 and saw active service in World War II.</p>
<p>As bigger and more reliable internal-combustion engines were produced, many large craft were using them for power. The establishment of the diesel engine, employing heavy oil for fuel, progressed from World War I. During the decade that followed, large power-yacht manufacture blossomed, hitting a climax in the Orion (1930) at 3,097 tons. In that period the biggest auxiliary yacht constructed was the four-masted, steel, barque-rigged Sea Cloud (1931) of 2,323 tons.</p>
<p>The construction of bigger power craft lessened in 1932, and the fashion after that was toward smaller, less expensive craft. After World War II, a lot of small naval boats were bought by private owners for conversion to yachts. In the late 20th century, yachting has become a globally beloved competition enjoyed by thousands of yachtsmen who are actually sailing and upkeeping their own small recreational boats. The popularity of craft and owners has increased steadily, not only in the traditional areas on the sea but also on inland waterways and lakes.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Taxes can be categorized by the effect they have on the distribution of income and wealth. A proportional tax is a kind that puts the same relative liability on each taxpayer—i.e., where tax liability and income move in equal levels. A progressive tax is recognised by a greater than proportional growth in the tax liability in relation to the growth in income, and a regressive tax is characterized by a less than proportional rise in the comparable burden. Thus, progressive taxes are thought of as reducing a lack of equality in income distribution, whereas regressive taxes are believed to have the result of an increase in these inequalities.</p>
<p>The taxes that are generally believed to be progressive include individual income taxes and estate taxes. Income taxes that are declarably progressive, however, can become less so in the upper-income demographic—particularly if a taxpayer is allowed to lower his tax base by declaring deductions or by leaving out particular income components from his taxable income. Proportional tax rates that are applied to lower-income categories would also be more progressive if personal exemptions are made.</p>
<p>Income measured over the course of a given year may not definitely offer the most accurate measure of taxpaying status. For example, transitory growth in income may be saved, and during temporary declines in income a taxpayer may select to pay for consumption by taking from savings. Ergo, if taxation is held in comparison along with “permanent income,” it will be less regressive (or more progressive) than when it is held in comparison with annual income.</p>

Heavy analysis of marginal tax rates are required to review provisions as well as the formal statutory rate structure. If, for example, a particular tax credit (reduction in tax) decreases by 20 cents for each one-dollar rise in income, the marginal rate is 20 percentage points greater than specified by the statutory rates. Since marginal rates indicate how after-tax income is changed in response to changes in before-tax income, they are the appropriate ones for considering incentive effects of taxation. It is even more complicated to understand the marginal effective tax rate applied to income from business and capital, since it may depend on considerations including the structure of depreciation allowances, the deductibility of interest, and the provisions for inflation adjustment. A basic economic theorem shows that the marginal effective tax rate in income from capital is zero under a consumption-based tax.</p>
<p>Average income tax rates determine the part of total income that is demanded in taxation. The pattern of average rates is the one that is relevant for judging the distributional equity of taxation. Under a progressive income tax the average income tax rate grows with income. Average income tax rates generally increase with income, both because personal allowances are provided for the taxpayer and dependents and also due to that marginal tax rates are graduated; on the flip side, preferential treatment of income received fundamentally by high-income households could dwarf these effects, forcing regressivity, as signified by average tax rates that decline as income grows.</p>
